Landai 6AT holds complete intellectual property rights and is a landmark achievement.
Since restarting the R&D of AT transmissions in 2015, Landai has overcome numerous difficulties, including the high technical difficulty and short development cycle. The project team has steadily overcome difficulties, ultimately achieving the industrialization of the project.

It can be said that Landai is a typical representative of the continuous growth and development of Bishan's manufacturing enterprises and a mainstay of Bishan's industrial development, making due contributions to the economic and social development of Bishan. The official launch of the Landai 6AT assembly will help Landai enhance its competitiveness, expand its target market, and strengthen its technological accumulation. It will inject stronger momentum into Landai's own development and lay a more solid foundation for its accelerated take-off.

Chairman Zhu Tangfu stated that the LD6AT embodies the hard work of more than 200 Landai engineers and technicians, as well as the strong support of many well-known domestic and international parts suppliers. The company follows a path of "self-reliance and joint R&D", and has completely independent intellectual property rights. Its launch is of significant landmark importance for Landai's own brand.
It is reported that the Landai 6AT transmission strictly follows the GPDP development process, and underwent rigorous DVP verification during product development. The product underwent more than 20,000 hours of comprehensive bench tests; accumulated more than 1.5 million kilometers of various road durability tests, and successfully passed the "three high" tests of whole vehicle high temperature, high altitude, and high cold. Under the leadership of Mr. Tang Haichuan, the project leader, the software and control strategy team worked day and night to complete the writing and modification of nearly 100,000 lines of code, and successively released more than 10 versions of control software at different stages, carrying out hundreds of centralized calibration tests and verifications.
Through the R&D of the 6AT transmission, Landai has applied for 6 invention patents and 12 utility model patents, enabling the company to truly embark on the path of product transformation and technological innovation. Compared with current mainstream automatic transmissions in China, this product has certain improvements in controllability, NVH, and transmission efficiency. The multi-gear, close gear ratio changes make the product power connection smoother and shifting faster. At the same time, the company has many years of experience in manufacturing gears, shafts and housings, which allows for more effective cost control, thereby providing customers with higher cost-effective products.

5 Core Technological Highlights Promote Industry Level Improvement
At the Landai 6AT assembly offline unveiling ceremony, Tang Haichuan, Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Landai Power Transmission Machinery Co., Ltd., introduced the highlights of the 6AT product. First, higher transmission efficiency. Under the 168 condition, compared with mainstream industry products, the average transmission efficiency is effectively improved by 0%-3%, further improving fuel economy. Second, it has an independent self-learning function. The built-in Sub-Rom solution writes the test data from the offline test bench directly into the Sub-Rom built into the transmission. The TCU directly reads the initial data in the Sub-Rom, replacing the initial self-learning at the time of the whole vehicle offline, effectively shortening the whole vehicle offline time. Third, platform design. The Landai 6AT has three series: A, B, and C. 95% of the axle system, clutch, hydraulic system, and parts are shared; production line compatibility and quick switching are possible; core components such as the hydraulic control system and planetary transmission system are compatible with 8AT and P2 hybrid structures. Fourth, dual-stage damping technology is adopted. The torque converter uses a two-stage damper to cope with more severe engine torsional vibrations, which is beneficial to NVH improvement. At the same time, the lock-up speed of the torque converter is lower (1200 rpm), resulting in lower fuel consumption. Fifth, hydraulic system upgrade. In the N gear, the Landai 6AT switches the traditional switch valve control to the C3 solenoid valve control B2 oil pressure. In the N-R process, the B2 brake is in the braking state, thus reducing the gear shift impact of N-R.

In recent years, with the rise of independent automatic transmission companies such as Landai, China's automatic transmission industry has made substantial progress. Director Anqing Heng noted that in 2016, the proportion of domestically produced automatic transmissions in passenger vehicles was only 7%, but by 2018, this proportion had risen to 20%. In recent years, many independent automakers have invested heavily in the automatic transmission field, and the overall situation has improved. As Chinese automakers grow, so too does the transmission industry, with domestically produced automatic transmissions making significant progress in breaking through core technology barriers and developing electrification solutions. The performance, reliability, fuel efficiency, and cost control of domestically produced automatic transmissions have greatly improved, and the R&D system is constantly being refined.
After the offline unveiling ceremony, the attendees also visited the Landai 6AT assembly production line and experienced vehicles equipped with the Landai 6AT automatic transmission. The production process and product performance of the Landai 6AT received unanimous recognition.
